What is GoCardless?
GoCardless is an online tool that makes it easy for businesses to collect payments. Whether these payments are one-off, recurring, domestic or international; GoCardless makes it easy to collect these in advance or instantly.
You may already be familiar with account-to-account payments and likely already use it, for example, to pay energy bills, gym memberships, or your local window cleaner.
Account-to-account payments can be used to pay for regular payments, such as invoices, instalments, or subscriptions. They can also be useful to collect one-off payments instantly, such as a joining fee or payment for additional services.
With payments collected via GoCardless, you are in control and protected:
- You receive advance payment notifications, which allow you to raise any issues with the payment before it is collected

- You can cancel your payment authorisation at any time, either through the merchant you’re paying, your bank, or by contacting the GoCardless support team
- GoCardless is ISO 27001 accredited, (ISO 27001 is a widely recognised, internationally accepted standard for information security). It is also authorised by the UK Financial Conduct Authority to provide payment services as an Authorised Payment Institution across the European Union
