GoCardless processes Bank Debit payments on behalf of other businesses and organisations.
These businesses and organisations create payments for their customers using our system and we then process these according to the parameters they have set.
Identifying a payment made via GoCardless
If you’ve seen GOCARDLESS LTD appear on your bank statement and are unsure what the payment relates to, you can use our secure payment lookup tool to find out who you’re paying and what for.
You will be asked for the following information:
- Where is your bank account based?
- How much was the payment?
- When was the payment taken?
- Last 4 digits of your account number
- Your sort code
If, for any reason, this still doesn't return a result, please submit a ticket or email us at help@gocardless.com, and we can provide you with some more information. Please send us as much of the following information as you can to help us locate your payment:
- Your billing postcode
- The amount paid
- The date it was paid
- The mandate reference*

Every payment we collect is submitted to the bank with a mandate reference to help us identify your payment.
This reference is a mixture of letters and numbers and should be available from your bank. The format of this reference may vary and some banks choose not to display the full reference we submit to them and instead display only “GOCARDLESS”. Banks that display the full reference may provide this in the following format:
GOCARDLESS-MERCHANT NAME-UNIQUE REFERENCE
